We often get asked about the demographic we serve through the eleven programs within our agency and thought we would make it simple and easy to remember.

We serve vulnerable populations in the Virgin Islands from the womb to the will. 

A for Adolescent girls.

Program: Queen Louise Home for Children (St. Croix) Learn More 

Our newest census addition includes housing and supportive care for adolescent girls from ages 13 to 22 who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are in need of respite care, recommended to us through the Department of Human Services. Our doors are still open to serve all at-risk children, 12 and under.

S is for Seniors 

Programs: Flambouyant Gardens (St. Croix) , Ebenezer Gardens (St. Thomas), Learn More and Genip Gardens (St. Croix) Learn More 

Low-income seniors receive subsidized housing and support in a community setting at Flambouyant Gardens on St. Croix and Ebenezer Gardens on St. Thomas. Low-income seniors capable of independent living receive a subsidized apartment through the Genip Gardens program on St.Croix.

P is for Pregnant Women

Program: Early Head Start’s Pregnant Women’s Program (St. Croix) Learn More 

The Pregnant Women’s Program of Early Head start provides prenatal and postnatal care to pregnant women on a weekly basis with the opportunity to have their child admitted into Early Head Start program after birth. 

EC is for Early Childhood

Programs: Early Head Start (East & West, St. Croix) and Queen Louise Home for Children (St. Croix) Learn More 

Early Head Start serves infants and toddlers from birth to 3 years of age, providing educational services and support to low-income families across St. Croix. There are both Center-based and Home-based programs in Christiansted and Frederiksted, St. Croix. Queen Louise Home for Children continues to provide housing and supportive care to children, 12 and under, who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are in need of respite care.

T is for Those with Disabilities 

Programs: Ginger Thomas (St. Croix), Yellow Cedar Residence (St. Thomas), Sister Emma Cottage (St. Croix), Bougainvillea Gardens (St. Croix), Danish Gardens (St. Croix), and Genip Gardens (St. Croix) Learn More 

Sister Emma Cottage serves children and adults who have severe physical and developmental disabilities on a 24/7 basis. Ginger Thomas (St. Croix) and Yellow Cedar Residence (St. Thomas) serve adults with physical and developmental disabilities on a 24/7 basis. Bougainvillea, Danish, and Genip Gardens (all on St. Croix) provide subsidized housing to low-income adults with disabilities that are capable of living independently. 

Lutheran Disaster Response Program

Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is an effort that provides relief to the Virgin Islands in times of major disasters. Response support is activated to coordinate recovery throughout the Territory, with support from family case management and referrals, and assistance with home reconstruction or mitigation work. We support our community to ensure affected families receive the resources and assistance they need. Learn More
