The Center-Based Program

The Center-Based program of Early Head Start operates classrooms that are developmentally appropriate and in accordance with guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The program uses High Scope, a play-based curriculum that focuses on each child’s individual development and interests. Children are encouraged to explore, create, problem solve and make choices throughout their day. Daily communication between the family and center staff supports the child’s development and the formation of a strong parent-teacher bond.
