Early Head Start provides support and educational services to pregnant women. The goal of this component of the program is to provide the information, education and support needed to pregnant women to ensure that they have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Pregnant women are visited once a week in the home by a Home Visitor. The Home Visitor follows the curriculum, Partners for a Healthy Baby, which is specific to pregnancy and post-natal experience. The weekly visit helps to foster the understanding of prenatal and postpartum development. Good health practices are encouraged to support a healthy outcome for mother and new-born child.
